Films of “Northern Character” screened in Finland
Films from the collection of the International "Northern Character" Films&TV Festival were screened in Suomi.
The Finnish-Russian Society organized a cultural marathon in Finland on March, 23 -25 2018. Together with the participants of the ensemble presenting Russian ethnic costume (the trade union committee of the Kola NPP) the organizers of the "Northern Character" Films&TV Festival presented a set of films for the Finnish viewers. Sami Fireplace, Summer By The White Sea and Grandfather were screened.
People from the three cultural centers in the cities of Kuusamo, Pyhäjoki and Pintamo learned more about creative work of Russian artists and got acquainted with the films made by directors and producers from Russia, Finland and Sweden.
Participants of the trip managed to create a special festive atmosphere. Finns who are not eager to demonstrate their emotions stormed with applause for a long time and did not let the Russians leave the scene, showing high interest to the Russian culture. Talking to TV-21 crew, artists and spectators admitted the importance of such meetings, when culture guaranties peace and understanding between peoples.
